Buying, installing and activating

The process is 100% digital: you buy your eSIM package on our website, receive a QR code by email, scan it on your phone to install the eSIM, and simply activate it upon arrival at your destination to connect to the internet immediately.

Step 1: Purchase Your Package

1. Choose your destination: on Fulldatos select the country or region you’ll visit.
2. Select your package: pick the data package that best fits your trip.
3. Pay securely: complete your purchase online.

Step 2: Install Your eSIM

1. Receive your code: check your inbox. You’ll get an email with your eSIM QR code along with detailed installation instructions.
2. Scan the code: to install, go to Settings > Mobile Networks > Add eSIM (path may vary by phone model) and scan the QR code we sent you.
3. Activate it upon landing: once you’re at your destination, simply turn on the eSIM to start browsing.

The ideal time is one to two days before your trip so you can install it at home over a stable Wi-Fi connection. However, you can also buy it last-minute before your flight, or even after you land if you have access to Wi-Fi. Here are the most common scenarios:

Scenario 1: Ideal option (a few days before)

• When: 1–3 days before your flight.
• Why: You can install the eSIM without rushing, confirm everything works, and contact support if needed. You’ll travel worry-free knowing you only need to activate it upon landing.

Scenario 2: Last-minute purchase (before traveling)

• When: The same day of your trip, even at the airport before boarding.
• Why: If you forgot, as long as you have Wi-Fi, you can buy and install your eSIM package in under 5 minutes and be ready before takeoff.

Scenario 3: Purchase at destination (after landing)

• When: You’re already at your destination and need internet.
• How to do it: Connect to airport Wi-Fi or use the Wi-Fi at your hotel or accommodation. Then visit our website, purchase your eSIM package, and follow the installation steps sent by email.

Scan the QR at home, then activate your eSIM upon landing and enable data roaming to connect instantly. Here is the step-by-step guide so there’s no room for doubt:

Phase 1: Installation (do this at home, on Wi-Fi)

1. Find the email: open the message with your QR code.
2. Open Settings: go to Settings > Mobile Networks (or Cellular Data) > Add eSIM.
3. Scan the code: point your camera at the QR code.
4. Follow the prompts: add the eSIM package. Keep your Fulldatos eSIM “off” until you travel.

Phase 2: Activation (do this upon landing)

1. Open Settings: go again to Settings > Mobile Networks.
2. Turn on your eSIM: select your Fulldatos eSIM and activate it.
3. Disable your primary line: turn off your physical SIM or main line to avoid accidental charges from your original carrier.
4. Enable data roaming: make sure data roaming is turned on for your Fulldatos eSIM.

Quick fix: If your eSIM doesn’t connect on arrival, first check that data roaming is enabled.

Your package’s validity starts the moment your eSIM first connects to the network of any country included in your package. It does not begin when you purchase or install the eSIM at home, giving you full flexibility to prepare in advance.

To make it clearer, here’s a practical example:

• Monday, July 1: You purchase a 10-day unlimited data package for travel in Spain. Validity has not started yet.
• Tuesday, July 2: You install the eSIM on your phone at home. Validity still hasn’t started.
• Friday, July 5 at 9:00: You land in Madrid, enable your eSIM line in settings, and it connects to Vodafone’s network. Now the 10-day validity begins!
• Monday, July 15 at 9:00: Your package will expire exactly 10 days after that first connection.

Key point: You can buy and install your eSIM package as early as you like, validity only starts when your trip truly begins.
